Exclusive Interview: Ricky Rojas of ‘Moulin Rouge!’
All good things must come to an end, as those who love Broadway’s Moulin Rouge! have come to know intimately. For almost a decade, this Tony Award-winning musical has captured the heart and attention of anyone who steps inside the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. However, the bright lights are coming down, and can-can dancers are exiting stage left, as this show prepares to take its final bow. Although Moulin Rouge! isn’t going out without one last party, we’re excited to be a part of that celebration! In honor of this monumental occasion, we were able to chat with Original Broadway Cast member Ricky Rojas!
In this exclusive BSB Insider interview, Ricky Rojas discusses what it’s like to continue returning to Moulin Rouge! and how his journey with Santiago has changed since its inception. While using the film as a blueprint, Rojas chats about where he pulls inspiration from to bring Santiago to life on stage. What is it about this character that perhaps general audiences don’t know? And if Santiago were living in today’s world, what does he think would be his anthem? The possibilities are endless when you’re talking about a jukebox musical, and everything is on the table when Ricky Rojas is joining us!
